Whenever I travel around on photo shoots I always take a few photos of the area, be it big landscapes or tiny natural details.
I love including it in the blog posts of my clients to tell the whole story of their photo shoot.
For some time this year I was not the happiest person, because of lots of small things that built up over time and became big things.
I was wondering why I was here, back in South Africa… Why didn’t we stay longer in Korea, if we could live in a tiny country with limited nature around for so long, why couldn’t we stay longer…?
And lots of other thoughts.
But every time I’m out and about on a shoot, seeing so many different locations when you only drive a few kilometers, everything makes sense again.
We must be here now, I must be here now. I must celebrate this beauty all around me and share it with my clients and the world.
I’m sometimes dumbstruck and in utter awe of the abundant beauty all around me. Some of it I can appreciate from the window of my house, some I can enjoy if I walk a few steps, some I see every day driving around, minutes from my house. I’m surrounded by all this beauty every single day.
The other day The Husband and I went for a jog on a foot path in the nature reserve surrounded by blooming fynbos. And I caught myself exclaiming every few minutes “oh this is beautiful, oh this is so beautiful”
So now I know, I’m a child of open spaces and nature and most of all, Africa!
