Winter Nights – Week 3 {Project 52}

Last year winter we sat by the fire place every night after the little guy were already asleep. Sometimes he was with us, in my arms, nursing or sleeping.

This year we have a little guy wanting to help pappa with starting the fire, wants to throw his toys in the fire to see what will happen, wants to feel how hot it is himself, because why believe us…

This is the image every night when we make fire in the fireplace and I’m busy preparing food. This is an image I always want to have to remind me of this year and this time, because next year he’ll be bigger and might not be this fascinated by the flames and fire anymore (although I hope he’ll always be fascinated by things like this).

I can still remember every winter’s evening in front of this fireplace since 2014, and how much have changed. Every year the winter’s feeling gets lighter and warmer, and more inviting, because we also grow with the years. This year the feeling is full of laughter and new beginnings, I wonder what next winter will bring…
